Dean Martinez from Pricewaterhouse Coopers will present current information on compensation and employment trends in our industry. Then well turn to our panel, which will provide insight from three perspectives: academia, recruiting, and a major local business. Our panel members this year are:
Dr. Haag received his Ph.D. in 1992 and has been with the University of Denver since 1995. He specializes on software engineering, particularly in the implementation of Java systems that run on the internet. He is the author of 11 books, one of which has been translated into 7 languages, and has consulted for J.D. Edwards, Gartner Group and others.
Milo Hurley started in the Data Processing industry in 1963. He earned a BS in Mathematics from Arizona State University in 1968. Before starting EDP Recruiting Services, Inc. in January of 1981, he had been a recruiter for two years in Phoenix, AZ. His prior IS experiences were: six years selling mainframes, six years software support of super computer operating systems and scientific application programming, and, initially, four years as a hardware technician on mainframes.Guy Cook, Vice President, Internet Services and an Officer for Qwest Communications. Prior to joining Qwest in October of 1997, Mr. Cook was President and Chief Executive Officer for SuperNet, Inc., one of the leading Internet Service Providers in the Rocky Mountain Region of the United States. He spent seven years at U S WEST in a variety of management positions, and five years as a Staff Director in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has served on the Board of numerous high tech startup and non-profit organizations.
