J. Jeffrey Richardson

Dr. J. Jeffrey Richardson serves as
Chief Information Officer at the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE).
He is responsible for coordinating the strategic direction of information
technology infrastructure investment among Colorado’s 28 public institutions
of higher education. Specifically,
Dr. Richardson:
ü chairs the CCHE CIO Council, comprised of the CIO from each higher education governing board in Colorado;
ü chairs the Distance Education Coordinating Council, charged to implement broad-based coordination and collaboration in distance education among Colorado’s 28 public institutions of higher education;
ü chairs the Layer 3 Steering Committee of the Governor’s Multiuse Network Task Force, responsible for overseeing the design of a statewide public sector ISP network;
ü oversees the information technology programs of CCHE’s Technology Advancement Group (formerly the Colorado Advanced Technology Institute), the state’s university/industry technology development and transfer organization;
ü supports the Beanpole Project of the Department of Local Affairs, a program to provide incentives for broadband infrastructure investment in rural Colorado communities; and
staffs the Colorado High Technology Scholarship Program Fund
Dr. Richardson is author of over 40 professional publications, and is editor of three books on artificial intelligence. He is the author of a published K-12 instructional software package designed to help children learn the number facts (FactMaster), holds two U.S. patents in the area of fitness monitoring.
Dr. Richardson holds a Ph.D. in Education awarded in 1981 from the University of Colorado at Boulder
Geoff Cooper
Geoff Cooper is Vice President and
Chief Information Officer for Sunrise Medical a $650 million manufacturer of
home medical equipment. Sunrise Medical has approx. 4,000 employees with eleven
manufacturing sites in North America and Europe. Company headquarters are in Carlsbad, California with North
American headquarters in Niwot, Colorado. The
company has recently been taken private and is restructuring to move from a
fragmented divisional model to a global operating model.
This restructuring involves significant Information Technology
investment, including the implementation of JD Edwards, to align business
processes with the new business strategy.
Geoff joined Sunrise Medical in 1998.
Prior to Sunrise Medical Geoff was
Vice President of Information Technology for GE Access, a $2 billion computer
distributor based in Boulder, Colorado. GE Access provides the complete sales,
marketing, credit and fulfillment link between high technology manufacturers
such as Sun, SGI and Oracle and resellers who market computer-based enterprise
solutions to business. While at GE Access Geoff implemented the Oracle Application
suite and also managed the eCommerce direction for the business.
From 1992 to 1994, Geoff was
Director of Information Technology for InfoNow Corporation, an early pioneer in
eCommerce.
Geoff was Director of
Information Systems for Exabyte Corporation, from 1989-1992, when that company
grew from post startup to revenues of $200 million.
Before joining Exabyte he was
with Unisys Corporation for eleven years, in a variety of Information Systems
management positions in the USA and Western Europe.
Geoff is a citizen of the
United Kingdom and is a speaker, writer and consultant on the implementation of
systems for competitive advantage. He has consulted with or presented to many groups including:
Sun, Oracle, AT&T, Sun Japan, Worldwide Technologies (St. Louis), Bay State
Computer Group (Boston), Merisel and Iomega.
He was the keynote speaker at the 1997 New Frontiers Conference, a
gathering of six hundred systems integrators focused on the implementation of
enterprise systems and eCommerce solutions. Geoff is Certified in Production and
Inventory Management by the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
In 1990 and 1991 he was runner-up in the Colorado Chief Information
Officer (CIO) of the Year Award and in 1992 he was named to the CIO magazine
High Performance 100. He obtained a BS degree from the University of
Wisconsin-River Falls and a MBA from the University of Michigan.
Greg Hagerl
Greg Hagerl is Chief Technology Officer at Lewan and Associates. Greg heads up the Enterprise Solutions Group which has him overseeing the Telecom, Systems, Network and Storage groups with 60 engineers and 25 sales people. Greg has the ultimate responsibility of designing and deploying a systems integrated solution for Lewan's clients.
