Non-proprietary open source software tools have proven to be the technically robust and secure.  Look at the popularity of Java, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, and Linux.  New Particles Corporation will provide a comparative analysis between the popular open source software tools and their licensed pay-per-use commercial counterparts.  

 

The purpose of this discussion is to provide the audience with good reference material that can be pulled from whenever an IT problem arises in which an open source solution is possible.  The material should also help the IT executive answer the questions from the title of our presentation.   We look forward to a lively discussion.

New Particles Corporation is a software consultant group based in Denver Colorado.  New Particles is run and owned by six individuals each possessing more than 15 years of software development experience - with their formative years spent hacking Unix, C, C++, Oracle, Motif,...  

 

As new products and ideas have emerged with the explosion of the internet, New Particles has come to believe that the .  New Particles primary focus is the development of business/e-commerce solutions (using open source technologies whenever it makes good business sense).
