Each December we pull together a panel from industry, education, and consulting to look at the state of IT employment in Colorado.  In the late 1990s, this panel predicted a shortage of mainframe programmers before it showed up in our recruiting efforts.  Several years ago, we saw an employer’s market starting where we could recruit talented IT people with higher skills and lower wages.  Today, things are changing in Colorado and wages are going up as organizations grow their IT staffs.  Are we in equilibrium or will there be shortages?  What will happen to IT wages in 2007?  What skills are in high demand, and what skills are not?

This should be a lively event.  Register early.  We changed the location to accommodate a larger group.  Now that the light rail is running, if you work in the Tech Center you might want to hop on the train to get downtown to the 16th Street Mall Adams Mark Hotel.  Please note there is special pricing for this event,  $30 members $40 guests $25 Students.

CONNECT's Power, Politics & Partnership Workshop ($495.00 value) FREE !
January 18 - 19, 2007

Large, ambitious strategic projects are rife with political issues. As part of our Human Performance Optimization™ practice, CONNECT: The Knowledge Network invites you to a powerful one and a half day event that will change the way you view these issues and improve your ability to manage, sponsor, be a customer of, or simply work on, large, cross-organizational projects.

Power, Politics & Partnership is a dynamic, yawn-free leadership development program. This in-house workshop focuses on the worlds of Tops, Middles, Bottoms and Customers during turbulent times. It gets to the heart of partnership in organization life - what makes partnership so critical, what gets in the way of it developing, and what the role of leaders is in making it happen.  The centerpiece of the workshop is an organization exercise in which participants are dropped into roles as top executives, middle managers, workers and customers interacting in a chaotic, fast-paced environment. This visceral approach enables the learning to get beyond the head level to where it really hits home and sticks. Peer discussion reinforces the students' learning.

For more information on this workshop, go to:

In this drawing, only one (1) person will be qualified to attend the CONNECT workshop held on January 18 - 19, 2007.
