Managing Multicultural Software Development Teams

Distributing a project scope between in-country and offshore software development teams is now the norm for many industries. Managing software development projects with geographically and culturally diverse teams presents unique challenges and benefits. Coordinating these projects requires intensive communication and coordination. In this presentation, we will discuss some of the challenges and present methods to maximize the advantages of a multicultural team.

Monthly Briefings and Lunch - From September to May, we offer monthly lunchtime events that give you access to experts who give you the tools you need to get promoted and succeed in your role as an IT manager.
Professional Development - Topics focus specifically on IT management issues and you get the chance to discuss ideas with IT managers from other companies.
IT Community - As an IT manager, it pays to be active in your community. Networking with RMIMA members at our outside events gives you the relationships you need to benefit from the experience of your colleagues in other industries.
Education - RMIMA is forward-thinking. We are aware that schools are not graduating students in IT as fast as IT professionals are retiring. Were one of the few organizations thats doing something about it. Through our Student Ambassador Program, were reaching out to top students and were partnering with the best colleges and universities in the area.

If you want to drive change in your organization, motivate your people, and get projects done on-time and on-budget, RMIMA is a great resource for you.

RMIMA meets for lunch on the second Thursday on the month from September through May. Each meeting gives you time to network and to participate in a topical presentation. Registration and networking is at 10:30, the speaker starts at 11:00 sharp, and lunch begins at noon. This means you can be back to the office right after lunch.

RMIMA was founded in 1982 and is well established as the leading local professional association for managers and practitioners in the field of Information Systems. We meet monthly, except June-August. Lunch meetings include topical speakers and allow time for networking among professionals who are interested in learning more about the rapidly changing field of Information Systems and Information Management. Our mission is to foster information systems education and the continued advancement of information management.
