Multicultural Software Development Teams

Registration and Networking Distributing a project scope between in-country and offshore software development teams is now the norm for many industries. Managing software development projects with geographically and culturally diverse teams presents unique challenges and benefits. Coordinating these projects requires intensive communication and coordination. In this presentation, we will discuss some of the challenges and present methods to maximize the advantages of a multicultural team. We will discuss:
Joanna Fry, MSIS, MBA, is a member of the IM Asset Design Team at WellPoint, responsible for design and implementation of new enterprise business intelligence solutions. Joanna is a former Peace Corps volunteer with over 15 years experience managing multi-cultural development teams and vendors. She has worked in application design and business intelligence development projects internationally and domestically. Joanna’s experience spans multiple industries, leading development projects in the healthcare, telecommunications, mining industries, national defense and international aid sectors.
