Cloud computing is the new Information Technology delivery model that reduces total costs of ownership and is the place where companies are investing their technology dollars.

International Data Corporation (IDC) said $17 billion has already been invested in cloud technology services and another $44 billion will be spent by the end of 2013. The Wall Street Journal reported that business spending is soaring on internet plumbing such as servers that support cloud computing platforms. Dell’s vice president says that the company is seeing triple-digit increases in its cloud computing business year to year. One of the key drivers of this technology is that companies are using the web to reach more customers and utilizing features such as video streaming which require more computing power and faster network connections.
